Nigeria is located in Western Africa with a land mass of 923768 sq kilometres of both land and water. Nigeria is a multi ethnic country having Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba as the three major ethnic groups. Nigeria is divided into six geopolitical zones. Below are the geo political zones in Nigeria and their states.

North East
The north Eastern Nigeria is made up of majorly the Kanuri.
The North Eastern part of Nigeria is made up of six states which includes
Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno state, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe State.

North West
The North Western Nigeria is made up of Hausa Fulani ethnic group.
The North Western Nigeria is also made up of six states viz Jigawa State, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara

North Central
The North Central part of Nigeria is made up of Tiv ethnic group. It has the largest number of states. There are seven states in the North Central they are Benue, Niger, Kastina, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa and Plateau

South East
The South Eastern Nigeria is made up of Igbos and has the least number of states. The south eastern states are Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo State.

South West
The South Western part of Nigeria is made up of six states. The zone is dominated by Yoruba Tribes. The states that make up the South Western Nigeria are Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo State.

The South South part of Nigeria is made up of majorly the ijaw ethnic group. There are six states that make up the South South zone of Nigeria they are Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa,Cross River, Delta, Edo and River State
